India’s biggest Mobile Network Brand Reliance’s Jio has making a debut in E-Commerce to take on Amazon and Flipkart. JioMart is aimed to offer over 50,000 grocery products along with free home delivery and with easy return policy.
Initially it will be available in Navi Mumbai, Thane and Kalyan. Jio users in Mumbai has already received invites for JioMart. It will be expanded all over India soon. Reliance has aimed to counter Amazon and Flipkart in E-Commerce Venture. Reliance Industries Limited’s Chairman Mukesh Ambani first hinted at the company’s e-commerce venture by calling it “new commerce initiative” previous year.
Mukesh Ambani had told in Reliance Industries Limited’s 42nd Annual General Meeting as The Mumbai-based company is projected to connect three crores offline retailers with over 20 crores households in the country through the latest venture.
JioMart has plans to offer such as free home delivery against no minimum order value, no questions asked return, and express delivery promise. The Official JioMart website specifies the venture as “Desh Ki Nayi Dukaan” (the country’s new shop).
In the initial stages, Jio Mart will sell house products like daily staples, soaps, shampoos, and other household items which will give tough competition to players like Amazon and Grofers.

It is reported that Jio has started registering Kiranas and giving POS machines by enabling digital payments. The firm is said to assist in getting loyalty, discount coupons from FMCG firms, which help the retailers also get additional benefits.
